The post-apocalyptic drama, Fallout, is returning to the screens in a week’s time for the second season. Before the premiere, fans finally have a few hints about how the show will bring the wasteland’s most iconic location, New Vegas, to life. Fallout, which is based on a video game created by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, features Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, and Walton Goggins, among others.

At CCXP25 in Brazil, the cast shared new footage from the upcoming season and discussed what fans can expect. Just like the first season, the cast promised the new season would be filled with Easter eggs related to the video games. “Every single corner you look, there’s an Easter egg,” said Walton, who portrays the Ghoul, aka Cooper Howards, in the series. “But none more than House. It becomes this larger-than-life presence,” he added.

Robert House Will Be Introduced In Season 2

The actor referred to Robert House, the mysterious ruler of New Vegas in the games. In the show, the character will be played by Justin Theroux, who said that fans will see a very different version of the character in season 2. “In the video game, we don’t really see flesh and blood House,” he said, adding that the makers of the show decided to bring him to life on the screen.

“Mr. House is (mainly on) screen. And I think (Fallout producers) Geneva (Robertson-Dworet), Graham (Wagner), and Jonah (Nolan) are smart enough to be like, ‘No, let’s see this guy breathing. Let’s see what he was like before the Armageddon,’ he explained. The actor further added, “So, that was really fun just from an acting perspective to breathe life into that character and see him walk around. That was really fun.”

Justin Theroux Opens Up About The Challenges Of Portraying Robert House

Justin also mentioned the challenge of honouring the original portrayal of the character by René Auberjonois, who voiced House in the video game. “The challenge was just to make him as realized as possible. Obviously, not phone it in and not really try and compete with the wonderful actor who had already been his voice in the game,” he shared.

Walton Goggins And Justin Theroux Speak About Working Together

Both Walton and Justin, longtime friends, said working together was a highlight of the season. The White Lotus actor mentioned that they had never worked together before, so watching his friend perform was something he looked forward to while filming the show. He added, “When he showed up, he brought an entire world with him.” Meanwhile, Justin compared Walton to a “magician” and said, “We had a couple really barn-burner scenes to do together, and it was really fun to chop those scenes.”

Fallout season 2 premieres on Prime Video on December 17.
