Following his Bigg Boss 19 victory, actor Gaurav Khanna recently made his YouTube debut. On Tuesday, the Anupamaa actor launched his YouTube channel and uploaded his first video. However, within 24 hours, the channel was taken down by YouTube, leaving Gaurav and his fans shocked. SCREEN has now learned what led to the termination of Gaurava’s YouTube channel.
It appears that the surge in fan activity following Gaurav’s YouTube debut resulted in the channel being taken down within hours of its launch. A source close to the Bigg Boss 19 winner told SCREEN, “Actually, a lot of traction happened in very few hours. The channel had over 50k subscribers, and on just a small video, there were over 1.3 lakh views within a span of a few hours. So maybe the new YouTube algorithm monitors abnormal activity… their internal checks are happening, and the channel should be back soon.”
The source further revealed that since Gaurav Khanna is new to the YouTube space, he himself is unaware of what went wrong and why. After fans encountered the message, “This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated,” many were left curious about what exactly had happened. A fan commented, “It happens when there is an instant increase in the number of subscribers. It’s quite common; it happens to most of the celebrities. His team can get it back.” Another user wrote on Reddit, “It happened due to artificial traffic and bots… Likely because I have seen new accounts with more subs in a day than him, so yes, it’s artificial and curated… YouTube terminated his account.”
Recently, Gaurav Khanna emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss 19. Talking about his journey on the Salman Khan-hosted reality show, the Celebrity MasterChef winner exclusively told SCREEN, “I feel very humbled by all the love showered upon me. Playing the game with grace and dignity wasn’t a plan; that is how I am in real life. I have been brought up in a certain manner. Things that I don’t like to do in front of my parents, in my house, or in front of my wife, I would definitely not want to do in front of others. My folks are watching, my wife is watching, and even kids and elderly people watch Bigg Boss, so I didn’t want to do anything that I don’t do in real life.”
