WTC Points Table after Adelaide Test: India slip to 3rd after pink-ball loss, Australia No. 1 again | Cricket News

ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Points Table: India slipped to the third spot in the WTC 2023-25 points table with their 10-wicket defeat to Australia in the Pink-Ball Test in Adelaide in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Sunday.

The defeat reduced India’s points percentage from 61.11 to 57.29 since their win in Perth in the first Test, pushing them below South Africa and Australia who have regained the top spot in the World Test Championship standings. Australia’s ninth win of the ongoing cycle propelled their PCT from 57.69 to 60.71 ahead of second-ranked South Africa (59.26) who could leapfrog the defending champions should they win the second Test against Sri Lanka in Gqeberha.

IND vs AUS Day 3 Highlights

India cannot afford another loss in their remaining three games to reach the WTC final on their own terms. With three wins in Australia, India can, at best, finish with 146 points and a points PCT of 64.03.

India and Australia will next play the third Test in Brisbane (Gabba) from December 14 to 18.
