Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signalled that there has been progress in the 28-point peace plan talks as he held a “very constructive” phone call with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner on Saturday.
The Ukrainian president informed that the discussion focused on how to ensure that Russia sticks to a potential peace deal to end the war which has been raging for the past four years. Zelenskyy also said that he is “determined” to continue working with the United States.
The call between Zelenskyy and Witkoff was also also joined by Ukrainian officials from Miami, who are stationed in the US and engaged in talks for the third day regarding an American effort to broker a peace deal with Russia.
I’ve just had a long and substantive phone call with @SteveWitkoff and @jaredkushner, alongside Andrii Hnatov and @rustem_umerov. I am grateful for a very focused, constructive discussion.
