Ahmedabad to host seven IPL matches | Ahmedabad News


Road closure

Ahmedabad Traffic Police has declared the route between Janpath T junction towards Krupa Residency and up to Motera T junction closed at certain times during the matches. According to the notification, issued Saturday, these areas will remain closed to traffic in the following durations:

  • From 2 pm on March 25 to 2 am on March 26.
  •  From 2 pm on March 29 to 2 am on March 30.
  • From 2 pm on April 9 to 2 am on April 10.
  • From 11 am to 10 pm on April 19.
  • From 2 pm on May 2 to 2 am on May 3.
  • From 2 pm on May 14 to 2 am on May 15.
  •  From 11 am to 10 pm on May 18.

Alternate Routes

  • Travellers can head from Tapovan circle to ONGC crossroads, then on to Janpath T junction and then to Prabodh Raval circle.
  • The other alternate route is for those heading from Krupa Residency. They can go towards Sharan Status crossroads to Bhat Koteshwar road and from there onwards to Apollo Circle.

Extended Metro Timings

  • The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) said, “In view of upcoming IPL-2025 day/night cricket matches scheduled on March 25, March 29, April 9, May 2 and May 14… GMRC has decided to extend Metro train services timings in Ahmedabad from 10 pm to 12.30 am on the said dates.”
  • Normal timings of Metro services in Ahmedabad are from 6.20 am to 10 pm.
  •  According to the GMRC: “During the extended hours from 10 pm to 12.30 am, passengers can travel only from Motera Stadium Metro station and Sabarmati Metro station to any operational stations on both corridors of Ahmedabad (Motera Stadium to APMC and Vastral Gam to Thaltej Gam).”
  •  GMRC said it has introduced a special paper ticket to be used for the return journey on the day of IPL matches. The ticket will cost Rs 50 per person.
  •  Extended duration of the trains will not apply to Gandhinagar.
