Dimitri Payet, the 38-year-old French footballer currently playing for Vasco da Gama in Brazil, is facing serious accusations from a Brazilian woman who claims she endured a harrowing relationship marked by abuse and humiliation.

Larissa Natalya Ferrari, 28, revealed to Brazilian news outlet Globo that she has filed a police complaint against Payet, accusing him of “physical, moral, psychological, and sexual violence.” She said she has also sought a protective order from local authorities.

According to reports from Agence France-Presse (AFP) via Le Monde, the police report includes Ferrari’s claim that Payet assaulted her, leaving visible marks on her body.

A statement from Rio de Janeiro’s civil police, as quoted by AFP, confirmed that the complaint has been filed with a unit specialising in assisting women and that an investigation is underway.

Ferrari alleges the abuse began after a seemingly minor incident — she asked Payet for two tickets to a Vasco home match against Atletico Mineiro. Her friend later posted a photo from the game without crediting Payet, which she claims enraged him.
“From that day on, he started to talk about punishment,” Ferrari told Globo. “He began to emotionally pressure me. During sex, he started to hit me, stepping on my face and my body.”

She said she feared rejecting him, believing she would lose him if she didn’t comply. “So, yeah, I ended up accepting it,” she said.

In a separate statement to AFP, Ferrari described increasingly degrading demands. “He asked me for proof of love that consisted of humiliations,” she said. “I recorded videos in which I drank my urine, drank water from the toilet bowl, and licked the floor.”

Ferrari further claimed that Payet manipulated her through emotional blackmail to gain sexual advantage, according to the police report cited by Globo.

She has since left Rio and is receiving psychological and psychiatric treatment, including medication, to cope with the trauma. Ferrari said she chose to go public with her story in the hope of empowering other women who may be suffering in silence.
