Virat Kohli, Padikkal Powers RCB to 205 Against Rajasthan

The solid knocks from Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal in the IPL 2025 game against Rajasthan have helped the side to finish strongly in their 20-over innings.

Batting first, Bengaluru has posted a total of 205 runs for 5 wickets, aiming for a first win in the home ground of the season. Bengaluru has lost all three matches they played at Bengaluru so far this season.

Phil Salt and Virat Kohli opened their innings while Archer opened the bowling attack. They went on to score 59 runs in the power play. However, Phil Salt lost his wicket to Hasaranga in the 7th over providing a break through for Royals.

Devdutt Padikkal joined Kohli to stitch a 95-run partnership before Archer dismissing Kohli for 70 runs. Padikkal went on to score a fifty on 27 deliveries before being dismissed by Sandeep Sharma.

Patidar lost his wicket to Sandeep Sharma on the same over. With contributions from Tim David (23) and Jitesh Sharma (20) Royal Challengers went on to score 205 runs in their 20 overs.

Rajasthan will be desperate for a win aiming for a movement in the IPL 2025 Points table.

Speaking after his impressive knock Devdutt Padikkal said, “It (the wicket) was a little sticky throughout and I feel it is going to be challenging in the second innings as well. We had clear plans before the game because the last few games here we didn’t bat particularly well, it was important we ran hard and hit the gaps.”

“I have done a lot of hardwork, last couple of years didn’t go my way, but I worked really hard on my game, not just tactically but also mentally. Having DK and Andy around helped a lot. We should be able to restrict them,” concluded Padikkal.
