The debate around nepotism in Bollywood never seems to fade, with star kids often getting trolled for bagging lead roles while outsiders struggle to find their place. Adah Sharma, known for her quirky sense of humor, recently shared a hilarious anecdote about how she once jokingly pretended to be Anu Malik’s daughter after filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali failed to recognize her.
In a chat with Cyrus Broacha, Adah recounted the amusing incident. “I have to tell you a funny story. I had to introduce myself. I went to the Heeramandi premiere, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali was standing there. I became an actor because I loved dancing in films—that was my only reason. My friend told me to greet the filmmaker, so I said, ‘Hello, I’m Adah.’ He looked at me and said, ‘Adah? Anu Malik’s daughter, Adah?’”
The actress, known for her lighthearted personality, didn’t correct him right away and instead played along. Her revelation left social media users in splits. Fans flooded the comment section with laughter and praise. One wrote, “I think she is totally capable of doing this (laughing emoji).” Another user commented, “Adah, you have an epic sense of humor.” A third added, “Cyrus and Adah are hilarious together.”
Adah Sharma, who made her Bollywood debut with 1920, has carved a niche for herself with unconventional roles. She was recently seen in the psychological thriller C.D (Criminal or Devil), directed by Krishna Annam and produced by Giridhar. Apart from films, she has impressed audiences with her performances in web shows like Sunflower and Reeta Sanyal.
