After Pahalgam attack, Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor-starrer Abir Gulaal’s songs removed from YouTube | Bollywood News

Abir Gulaal, a new film starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, was set to release May 9. But the film’s release was put on hold following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Now the makers have also removed the film’s songs from their YouTube India channels. Abir Gulaal was supposed to be Fawad Khan’s grand return to Hindi cinema, after a long period of tension between India and Pakistan. During this time, India had imposed a ban on Pakistani artists. The situation was perceived to be de-escalating before the Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of several tourists.

There have been renewed calls for sanctions to be imposed on Pakistan, and earlier this week, it was reported that Abir Gulaal would not be released according to plan. Now, a romantic track titled ‘Khudaya Ishq’ and a peppy dance number titled ‘Angreji Rangrasiya’ have been taken down from YouTube.

Many had questioned a collaboration between Indian and Pakistani artists in the wake of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Fawad Khan had earlier featured in Hindi films such as Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Khoobsurat, and Kapoor & Sons. Earlier, Fawad took to social media to condemn the attack in Pahalgam and wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident, and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time.”

Abir Gulaal is directed by Aarti S Bagdi and produced by Indian Stories Production, along with A Richer Lens and Aarjay Pictures. The film, which was shot in London, also features Lisa Haydon, Riddhi Dogra, Farida Jalal, Soni Razdan and Parmeet Sethi in pivotal roles.
