Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Prayagraj on Monday to participate in the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela, expressing his anticipation of taking a holy dip at the Sangam and seeking blessings.
In a message shared on, Shah spoke of the event describing it as a “unique symbol of the continuous flow of Sanatan culture”.

Shah further stated, “Kumbh reflects our eternal philosophy of life based on harmony. Today, I am eager to take a dip in the confluence and seek the blessings of the saints in this great festival of unity and integrity in the holy city of Prayagraj.”
Shah was greeted by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the airport and accompanied by several BJP leaders to the event.

During his visit, Shah is scheduled to perform the ritualistic dip at the Sangam and meet prominent saints, including the Shankaracharyas of Puri and Dwarka.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13, is one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, drawing millions of devotees. It will continue in Prayagraj till February 26.
