The wk-batter Beth Mooney smashed the first century of the WBBL 2025 season, guiding the Perth Scorchers to a 23-run victory against Brisbane Heat.
Perth Scorchers secured their first win of the tournament and made a major movement in the WBBL 2025 points table.
After being invited to bat first, Perth Scorchersโ Beth Mooney and Katie Mack opened the innings while Sianna Ginger opened the bowling attack.
With a decent start from the openers, the duo went on to post 89 runs for the first wicket.
Jess Jonassen gave the crucial breakthrough, dismissing Katie Mack for 31 runs. In the meantime, Beth Mooney went on to smash fifty and continued the onslaught, troubling Brisbane Heat bowlers.
After Mack, Paige Scholfield joined Mooney, and the latter went on to smash a century in the 19th over before being dismissed by Lucy Hamilton.
Hamilton bagged her second wicket, dismissing Paige Scholfield for 22 runs.
With Devine and Freya Kemp at the crease, Perth Scorchers for 172 runs in their 20-over innings.

In the pursuit of chasing 173 runs, Grace Harris and Nadine de Klerk opened the innings while Chloe Ainsworth opened the bowling attack.
With Chloe Ainsworth dismissed, Nadine de Klerk for 3 runs, Jemimah Rodrigues got dismissed for 11 runs by Sophie Deinve. Meanwhile, Grace Harris scored 46 runs before being dismissed by Ebony Hoskin.
After Jess Jonassenโs run out for a duck and Charli Knottโs dismissal for 32 runs, Brisbane Heat tatter in the middle overs with only five wickets in hand.
Chinnelle Henryโs 39-run knock did show ga limpse of victory, but her dismissal by Cloe Ainsworth has left the side heading towards defeat.
The remaining middle order and lower order were not able to put up much of a show as they got dismissed cheaply for single-digit scores.
In the final over, Brisbane Heat lost all 10 wickets, scoring only 149 runs and suffered a 23-run defeat at Allen Border Field.
Beth Mooney was named player of the match. Perth Scorchers will play their next game against Melbourne Stars on November 14 at Adelaide.
