Bhool Chuk Maaf box office collection day 5: Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi’s film surpasses Shahid Kapoor’s Deva | Bollywood News

Debutant director Karan Sharma’s romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf seems to be stuck in a time loop at the box office, just like its lead character. On Tuesday, its fifth day at the domestic box office, the Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi-starrer earned as much as it did on Monday. Bhool Chuk Maaf collected Rs 4.5 crore on Tuesday, the same as its collection a day before. The Monday earnings were a steep decline from those on Sunday (Rs 11.5 crore). That was the only day when the film managed to score a double-digit haul.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Bhool Chuk Maaf has earned Rs 37 crore at the domestic box office so far. Once again, it registered maximum occupancy in the night shows (36.19%), followed by evening (26.05%), afternoon (24.79%), and a very dismal one in the morning shows (8.63%). It scored the maximum occupancy in Chennai (56.67%), followed by Jaipur (38.75%), the National Capital Region (30.50%), Mumbai (25%), and Pune (22.25%).

While Bhool Chuk Maaf stays stable at the box office, it’s now surpassed the collection of Rosshan Andrrews’ cop drama Deva, starring Shahid Kapoor, which earned Rs 33.97 crore in India. The film is expected to have another week-long run sans major competition. While there are no key Hindi film releases this Friday, it will face fresh competition from two new releases next week on June 5 and 6.

On June 5, the Hindi dubbed version of Mani Ratnam’s crime thriller Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, Simbu, and Trisha, is all set to release in cinemas. The following day, Tarun Manshukhani’s whodunit comedy Housefull 5, with an ensemble cast led by Akshay Kumar, will also be released.

Bhool Chuk Maaf revolves around a soon-to-be-married man who realises that he is stuck in a time loop and keeps reliving the day before his wedding. It also stars Seema Pahwa, Raghubir Yadav, Zakir Hussain, and Sanjay Mishra among others. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, which delivered Stree 2, the first Hindi film to enter the Rs 600 crore club, with Rajkummar Rao last year.

Festive offer

Earlier this month, a day before its original release, Maddock Films had announced that the movie would skip its theatrical release on May 9 and get a digital release on Prime Video India on May 16 due to the recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation following Operation Sindoor.

The multiplex chain PVRINOX had moved the court challenging its producers’ decision to release it on Prime Video India directly. PVRINOX, Maddock Films, and Amazon MGM Studios later reached an understanding, and the movie was released in theatres on May 23. However, as a one-off exception, it will drop on Prime Video India in just two weeks on June 6.
