Self-enumeration will ensure accurate collection of data, promote transparency and save time, NTR District Joint Collector S. Ilakkiya said, urging the public to complete the self-enumeration process for Census 2027.

Flagging off a 5-km run organised jointly by the district administration and the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) stadium in the city on Sunday (April 26, 2026), Ms. Ilakkiya said Census 2027 was important for many purposes, including targeted development programmes and effective public administration, and that self-enumeration was a key component of the Census.
