Ekta Kapoor is facing legal trouble once again, this time around it is linked with her OTT platform, Alt Balaji. Hindustani Bhau, a former Bigg Boss contestant and popular social media personality has alleged that one of Ekta Kapoor’s shows disrespects Indian soldiers. Following his complaint, a local court has ordered the Mumbai Police for investigation.
For the unversed, the case dates back to 2020 when Hindustani Bhau had lodged a complaint against Ekta Kapoor. The complaint had also mentioned her OTT platform Alt Balaji, and parents, Shobha Kapoor and Jeetendra. In his complaint, Hindustani Bhau had slammed a show on Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Balaji. Reason? It featured a sequence wherein a military officer was involved in an “illicit sexual act” while he was dressed in his uniform.
Ekta Kapoor lands in legal trouble
“The accused have stooped to a cheap low and shamelessly targeted the dignity and pride of our country by depicting Indian Army military uniform in the illicit sexual act with national emblem on it,” the complaint said.
As reports suggest, a Bandra magistrate court has asked the Mumbai Police to look into Hindustani Bhau’s complaint against Ekta Kapoor which was filed in 2020. The court has ordered authorities to investigate the case and submit a report on the matter by May 9, as per Section 202 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Ekta Kapoor and the Alt Balaji team haven’t reacted to the court’s directive yet. In 2024 too an FIR was filed against Ekta after Jabalpur BJP MLA Abhilash Pandey held her culpable for showing “bold content involving children” in one of her web shows, titled Gandii Baat.
Ekta is known as the Czarina of television. She has produced so many TV shows and is one of the most loved producers in the industry.
