Our April issue cover star Ahaan Panday has been constantly in the spotlight ever since Saiyaara, but beyond the rising stardom, it is his bond with his sisters that truly stands out.
In a recent conversation, he got candid about his relationship with his sister Alanna Panday and cousin Ananya Panday, sharing how their relationship has grown over the years.
He said, “My sisters, I love them. I have a tattoo of Alanna’s birth year.” He went on to explain just how deep that connection runs. He added, “Yeah, 1995. That’s when she was born. She was my first best friend. We fought a lot as kids, like siblings do but I was always protective of her. Being the only brother to so many sisters, that instinct just came naturally. My childhood and teenage years were basically spent looking out for them.”
That protective instinct still defines him, even today. He continued, “With time, of course, I had to learn to let go and let them grow. Alanna’s now married to Ivor, a really nice guy. And I’m an uncle. I can’t wait to meet the baby once I’m done with this film. She’s also always been incredibly supportive. During all those years of waiting, she kept pushing me, telling me to just start, to put myself out there. She believed that every time I faced the camera, something lit up.”

He also credited both Alanna and Ananya for being his biggest cheerleaders. He said, “Ananya Panday has been just as supportive. They’ve both been amazing sisters.” And when asked if he would like to work with Ananya, his answer was instant and honest.
He added, “Obviously. Maybe something like Josh.” It is a thought that reflects both comfort and excitement, blending family with cinema. After the massive success of Saiyaara, backed by Yash Raj Films and directed by Mohit Suri, Ahaan has firmly stepped into the spotlight. But even as his career takes off, one thing has not changed, his instinct to protect, support and stand by his sisters, on and off screen.
