LSG IPL 2025 retained and released players: The Lucknow Super Giants franchise is expected to part ways with skipper KL Rahul as his poor strike rate is believed to be the final straw. The franchise which finished 3rd in the 2022 and 2023 seasons under Rahul could not make its way into the play-offs last season which might have added to the skipper’s non retention.
Swashbuckling batter Nicholas Pooran, meanwhile, will reportedly be retained by the franchise while pacer Mayank Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi and Ayush Badoni are the other players expected to stay on with the team moving forward.
With the IPL set to head into another mega-auction and a fresh three-year cycle, starting with the IPL 2025 season next year, the upcoming retentions will prove to be crucial for all 10 franchises in adopting new strategies for success.
