Fully ready to conduct board exams, says TBSE secretary Dulal Dey; over 1,000 candidates yet to receive admit cards | India News

The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) Thursday said it was fully prepared to conduct this year’s board examinations.

Speaking to reporters in Agartala, Dulal Dey, Secretary, TBSE, said, “The board exams are starting from February 24 this year. The higher secondary exams are scheduled to commence on February 24 with the English paper and the Madhyamik or matriculation-level exams would commence on February 25 with the same paper. While the HS exams would be over on March 22, the Madhyamik exams would be over on March 18… the form fill-up process is still pending in some schools, mostly due to technical issues.”

The Board secretary added that 520 forms were submitted Wednesday for the Madhyamik exams and 496 forms for Higher Secondary exams.

“It’s true that a large section of students couldn’t fill up their forms… They were issued forms. Most of these problems were created over online payment-related issues. This magnitude of problem would not have occurred, had those who filled up the forms checked the TBSE dashboard to see if the procedure was completed after clearing the payment. It seems they had refreshed the page immediately after clearing the payment and so, the data didn’t reflect. Few of these cases are always there but so many issues would not have occurred,” Dey said.

He added that TBSE was only considering the forms of those who could not fill their forms online or faced technical problems related to final submission or payment.

“We shall close down the form submission process by February 15 and issue the rest of the admit cards next week,” Dey said.

Meanwhile, TBSE executives started a series of meetings with centre secretaries and venue supervisors in four shifts starting Thursday. The meetings, which involve detailed discussions about technical issues to ensure a smooth conduction of the exams, would end on Friday.

For the Higher Secondary level, 20,960 admit cards were issued, to which 498 would be added, rounding up the cumulative candidate figure to 21,458.

The Madhyamik examinations will be conducted in 1,011 schools in eight districts of the state while Higher Secondary exams will be conducted in 371 schools.
