Bollywood legend Govinda has broken his silence regarding a harrowing 3 AM confrontation at his Mumbai residence that left him fending off a mob of nearly two dozen men. The “Hero No. 1″ star revealed that during the peak of the crisis, his calls to the local Mumbai Police went unanswered, forcing him to take extraordinary measures to ensure his safety and legal protection.

The incident, which first came to light through the actor’s longtime manager Shashi Sinha, involved a group of 22 to 23 unidentified individuals surrounding Govinda’s home in the early morning hours. Govinda recounted the tense moments to ANI, explaining that he initially mistook the gathering for a rowdy party. However, the silence and the strategic positioning of the men quickly signaled a threat.

“I wondered who they were because I couldn’t hear any noise coming from a party either. They did not seem like party-goers, so I began filming them,” Govinda shared. When his attempts to reach the Mumbai Police failed, the actor made the unconventional decision to contact high-ranking police officers in another country. “Mumbai police did not pick up my calls, so I called top police officers in another country. I asked them to stay on the line so I wouldn’t be blamed later,” he claimed, highlighting his fear that the situation could be misinterpreted if he were forced to use force.

The situation escalated when several members of the group began scaling the terrace of his residence. With no security present at the time, Govinda was forced to confront the intruders himself. Armed with his licensed revolver, he approached the group and demanded to know their purpose.

The men eventually claimed they were there to “fix the power system,” but their lack of immediate response and suspicious behavior led Govinda to draw his weapon. “I asked them to fix it and leave, pointing my gun at them. They did not expect it because I am only nice till it threatens my life,” the actor stated. His manager, Sinha, echoed this sentiment, expressing immense relief that the actor was armed: “I cannot imagine what would’ve happened if bhayya (brother) had a mobile in his hand instead of a gun.”

Despite the severity of the alleged attack, Govinda has expressed a desire to move past the incident rather than dwelling on the identities of the culprits. Adopting a philosophical stance, he noted that his priority remains his craft: “As an actor, my job is to focus on acting, not reacting.”
