Emraan Hashmi has clarified that the making of the sequel of the beloved movie is not just an attempt to tap into its current audience. Hashmi recently spoke with Zoom, and during the conversation he talked about how he is all set to start shooting for the movie. He said, “I think I’ll be shooting for it. “I’m going to shoot again next month.” The actor also mentioned that the much-awaited sequel will have some captivating scenes and a mesmerizing soundtrack, but he did not reveal any other detail about the film. He urged the fans to go and watch the film to discover more about it.

The actor also talked about how the discussions for the film have developed. He mentioned that “Awarapan has been in discussion for almost six years.” Back during the COVID era, there were discussions about bringing the character of Shivam back to life, despite the fact that he had passed away in the original movie. By 2022, a script given by Bilal, a friend of Hashmi, ended up aligning with their idea of how the movie was supposed to look.
Hashmi further went to clarify that the film isn’t intending to just bank on Awarapan’s iconic legacy. He said, “It doesn’t just do it to capitalize on Awarapan or its cult following—which it has, by the way.”
For the unversed, the original Awarapan has touched the heartstrings of many people, with some even being so smitted by the movie’s narrative that they got a tattoo of it.
