After enduring a nearly three-year gap between its first two seasons, Wednesday appears to be back on track for a much quicker turnaround. Fresh updates suggest that Netflix is keen to avoid another prolonged delay for one of its biggest global hits, and the streaming giant may already have a realistic release window in mind for Season 3.
Earlier reports indicated that production on Wednesday Season 3 would begin as early as November 2025, just weeks after Season 2 premiered in August that year. However, newer information suggests filming has been pushed slightly, with cameras now expected to roll in February 2026. While this is a modest delay, it still represents a far more efficient schedule compared to previous seasons.
There is some discrepancy around how long production will last. One report claims filming could wrap by May 2026, implying a relatively short shoot. However, casting calls and insider chatter point to a longer timeline of around nine months. If that proves accurate, Season 3 could complete production toward the end of 2026.
Based on Netflix’s typical post-production cycle, that would place Wednesday Season 3’s release around February 2027. While that may sound distant, it would amount to a gap of roughly a year and a half between seasons—significantly shorter than the nearly three-year wait fans experienced previously.

The urgency makes sense. With Stranger Things and Squid Game both concluding in 2025, Netflix is losing two of its biggest global franchises. Wednesday, which holds the record as Netflix’s most-watched English-language series of all time, has effectively become the platform’s crown jewel. Season 2 already ranks among Netflix’s top five English-language shows ever, despite its delayed arrival.
