The meeting comes amid India’s push to position itself as a global AI hub, with the government emphasising responsible and inclusive AI development. PM Modi has repeatedly underlined the need for AI that is human-centric and beneficial to society, while also encouraging innovation and startup growth.
The interaction between the Prime Minister and the OpenAI chief signals deepening engagement between global AI leaders and India, as the country seeks to harness artificial intelligence for economic growth, digital empowerment and technological leadership.
