Social media influencer Yadu Girish was arrested in Thrissur after several women accused him of sexual assault on Instagram; police are investigating further.

A 38-year-old social media influencer has been arrested in Thrissur district after several women accused him of sexually assaulting them. Police said the accused allegedly befriended the women through Instagram before targeting them.
The man, identified as Yadu Girish, is a native of Thannyam in Thrissur. According to investigators, he was active on Instagram and operated multiple accounts on the platform.
The case came to light after one woman approached the police with a complaint accusing him of sexual assault. As officers began their inquiry, two more women came forward with similar allegations. They told police that Girish befriended them online, gained their trust and promised marriage before allegedly assaulting them.
Following his detention, investigators suspect that more women may have been targeted in a similar manner. Police said further investigation is ongoing to identify other possible victims.
Several cases have been registered against Girish under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.
The investigation is being carried out by a special team under the Assistant Commissioner of Police of the Thrissur District Crime Branch, officials said.
