The family of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal has suffered another tragedy with the death of his grandfather, Devichand Agarwal, weeks after the 25-year-old’s alleged murder at Lohagad Fort. Devichand Agarwal, 71, died around 9.45 pm on Saturday.
Family members said he had been emotionally devastated following his grandson’s death. They said he had suffered a cardiac arrest and had been undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Pune for the past few days before he died.
Final march
Despite his deteriorating health, Devichand had joined a candlelight march at Lodha Belmondo township in Gahunje on June 27, where residents, relatives, and well-wishers gathered to demand justice for Ketan. He remained actively involved in the family’s campaign seeking a fair investigation.
Probe continues
Meanwhile, investigators have found another possible lead in Ketan Agarwal’s alleged murder case. Police are examining a Snapchat message allegedly sent by prime accused Siya Goyal to one of her friends several weeks before the incident.
Siya’s friend to be questioned
According to investigators, the message asked the friend to share both sides of her Aadhaar card for booking travel tickets to Udaipur, where the wedding was scheduled for November. It allegedly added that although the marriage was “not going to happen”, the Aadhaar details should still be sent. Officers now plan to question the recipient of the message to determine whether she had any knowledge of an alleged conspiracy before the crime.
