The first teaser of Kull – The Legacy of the Raisingghs, a new Jio Hotstar original, offers a glimpse into the troubled world of a royal family filled with deep secrets and trauma. Created by Ekta R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, and produced by Balaji Digital, the series stars Nimrat Kaur, Amol Parashar, Ridhi Dogra, Gaurav Arora, Rohit Tiwari, and Rahul Vohra, with Sahir Raza directing.
From the outset, the teaser, featuring a voice-over, presents a haunting look at the Raisinggh family’s complex dynamics. Nimrat Kaur, whose plays Indirani, in the teaser, claims to have “absolute power”. The actor describes her character as layered and fierce. “This show explores the weight of silence and secrets. It was a challenge to bring Indirani to life, and I’m excited for viewers to see how her story unfolds,” she said in a statement. Joining Nimrat is Ridhi Dogra, who claims in the teaser to be the true “representative” of the Raisinggh palace, while Amol Parashar asserts that he is the “raja”.

Director Sahir Raza described Kull as more than just a thriller, calling it a portrayal of the dark, unspoken corners of family life. He emphasized that the series goes beyond surface-level drama, delving into the emotional and psychological weight of secrets that shape entire generations. Raza also praised the cast and creative team for their contributions to the show’s intimate setting.
The teaser ends by hinting that, amidst the battle for royal legacy, the series will eventually reveal which of the seemingly “grey” characters is the most devious. Kull will premiere on May 2, 2025, exclusively on Jio Hotstar.
Kull arrives on the streaming scene just a week ahead of the Netflix original The Royals, which features the unexpected pairing of Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar, alongside Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, and Vihaan Samat in key roles. The series marks Pednekar’s OTT debut and is directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana. Interestingly, its teaser was also released just a day earlier.
