British-Indian music artist Manj Musik has been hospitalised following an accident in London, forcing the cancellation of his planned appearance at an upcoming Indian award ceremony. The singer was scheduled to perform at the Zee Cine Awards 2026 in Mumbai, where he was expected to deliver a high-energy stage performance.
The artist, whose real name is Manjeet Singh Ral, is best known as the former lead vocalist of the UK-based music group RDB (Rhythm, Dhol, Bass). Reports indicate that he was injured in an accident in London, though the exact nature and severity of his injuries have not yet been disclosed.
Following the incident, Manj Musik is expected to cancel his immediate travel plans to India. He was set to perform his popular track Swag Mera Desi at the award ceremony, which would have showcased his signature fusion of Bhangra rhythms and urban hip-hop influences.
Born in Bradford, UK, Manj’s musical career began alongside his brothers Kuly (Kuldeep Ral) and Surj (Surjeet Singh) as part of RDB. The group gained international recognition in the early 2000s by blending diaspora sounds with mainstream Bollywood music, helping popularise what fans often called the “Desi Cool” musical style.
The band’s journey started with performances in local gurdwaras before expanding to global collaborations with artists including Snoop Dogg, T-Pain and Ludacris. However, the group faced personal tragedy in 2012 with the death of elder brother Kuly Ral.
After the group’s transition period, Manj Musik launched his solo career in 2014 and established his label, Muzik ONE Global. His solo work includes several Bollywood hits such as Whistle Baja and Laal Ghaghra.
In a previous interview with Indulge Express, Manj spoke about maintaining musical relevance and the legacy of RDB. He said, “I think RDB as a band, of course, has a legacy that will always be there and it was something that I knew I would not be able to keep going without my older brother being with me in producing music. But individually I just want to create my own type of sound and my own vibe starting with hip-hop. I think just constantly releasing content and just being fully active through shows, concerts and being on the circuit with travelling – that is the best way of staying relevant today. I believe once you’re out of sight, you’re out of mind.”
The singer’s team has not yet issued a detailed medical update. Fans and industry colleagues have wished him a speedy recovery following the news of the accident.
