The fandom of K-pop sensation NewJeans has escalated its campaign for a full-member comeback, staging a two-day truck protest outside HYBE headquarters in Seoul. The demonstration follows a leaked rehearsal image allegedly showing members Hanni, Haerin and Hyein practicing without the complete lineup.
Fans, collectively known as Bunnies, directed their frustration at HYBE and its subsidiary ADOR, accusing the companies of mishandling internal disputes that they believe have stalled the group’s activities as five.
Bunnies Organise 2-Day Protest
According to Korean media reports on March 3, protest trucks bearing LED messages were stationed near HYBE’s office, demanding accountability from Chairman Bang Si-hyuk. The fandom called the ongoing conflict surrounding the group “prolonged and unproductive,” insisting that the management guarantee activities featuring all five members — Minji, Danielle, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein.
The protest comes months after Danielle March’s reported removal from the group in December 2025, a development that triggered widespread backlash. Adding to the tension was a recent court ruling involving former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. The Seoul Central District Court found no valid grounds for contract termination in the case she filed, a decision that fans argue weakens claims of a management rights dispute.
Bunnies have maintained that HYBE amplified the conflict through what they describe as unfounded allegations, further complicating the group’s future.
Legal Disputes And Growing Fan Demands
Beyond calling for a complete comeback, fans have also urged current ADOR CEO Lee Do-Kyung to withdraw legal action against Danielle’s family and to take firmer steps to protect the artists from what they claim are false reports and unauthorised leaks. The controversy intensified after screenshots from CCTV footage, reportedly taken overseas, surfaced online and were linked to the group’s rehearsal activities.
The fandom also criticised Belift Lab CEO Kim Tae-Ho, demanding an apology over allegations that rookie group ILLIT plagiarised NewJeans’ concept. They claimed the deletion of an explanatory video further damaged the group’s identity.
In a strongly worded statement, Bunnies warned that if their demands are not addressed, they are prepared to mobilise “all possible means and methods” to push for change.
