The State government has given its approval for the construction of rail overbridges (RoB) at 17 level crossings in the Alappuzha Lok Sabha constituency.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Alappuzha MP, K.C. Venugopal said the government had handed over the list of RoBs to the Kerala Rail Development Corporation. The cost of the construction would be borne by the Ministry of Railways.

The new RoBs will come up at Keltron, Vayalar, Pathinonnam-mile, Pathirappally, Thumboli, Ashan Kavala, Rest House, Paravoor, Punnapra, Punnapra South, Thankey, Cherthala traffic, Kanichukulangara, Kallan, Changankulangara, Vavvakkavu, and Murukalayam level crossings.

Mr. Venugopal said that RoBs would improve road traffic in these places.
