As per the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the final list of inductees will be announced in April, after a panel of more than 1200 musicians, historians and experts will vote.

The esteemed Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2025 nominees, featuring 14 artists vying for induction. Among them are Manchester-based bands Oasis and New Order, along with music icons like Mariah Carey, Cyndi Lauper and The White Stripes. Notably, half of this year’s nominees, including Billy Idol, Chubby Checker and Joe Cocker, are being considered for the first time. To qualify, an artist or band must have released their debut song at least 25 years before nomination.
The 14 performers include Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Mana, Oasis, Outkast, Phish, Soundgarden and The White Stripes.
As per the Hall of Fame, the final list of inductees will be announced in April, after a panel of more than 1200 musicians, historians and experts will vote. They choose the winners based on artists’ influence on others, their creativity, how long their music has remained popular and the quality of their work. Other than the main nominees, there are three special categories, Musical Influence, Musical Excellence and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award. The artists chosen for these honours will also be revealed at the same time.
Speaking about this year’s promising nominees, John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, in a statement, said, “These remarkable Nominees have each created their musical style and attitude, impacting generations of music lovers and contributing to the ever-evolving sounds and continued growth of rock & roll.”
Out of the 14, eight are being considered for the first time. These include Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Mana, Outkast and Phish. Meanwhile, Mariah Carey and Oasis were also nominated last year but did not make it to the final list. On the other hand, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, Joy Division/New Order and The White Stripes were last seen on the list in 2023 and now returned for another chance.
Although the exact dates and ticket information are not yet available, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony is expected to take place during the fall season in Los Angeles.
