Over 10,000 runners expected at inaugural Indian Navy half marathon

The Indian Navy is set to launch the first-ever Indian Navy Half Marathon (INHM) on February 2, 2025, in New Delhi, bringing together over 10,000 participants across three race categories, 21.1 km, 10 km, and 5 km.

The event, aimed at promoting fitness and resilience, will be hosted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with an iconic race route covering India Gate and Kartavya Path.

Organized in collaboration with IDFC First Bank, the marathon will be officially flagged off by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Mansukh L Mandaviya.

The event will also see the presence of senior officers from the Armed Forces, prominent sportspersons, and other distinguished guests.

As an incentive to the runners, the Indian Navy Slam, an award for those who complete all four races across Kochi, Vishakapatnam, Mumbai, and New Delhi, has been introduced by the Indian Navy.

This honor reflects the discipline and determination that define both the Indian Navy and the athletes.

The marathon has received strong backing from key partners, with Indian Oil Corporation Limited joining as an Associate Partner, while Delhi Police and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) are playing crucial roles in ensuring smooth execution.

With the inaugural edition, the Indian Navy aims to foster a culture of fitness, discipline, camaraderie, and national pride.
