Budget Session Of Parliament 2026 Live Updates: Both Houses of Parliament began proceedings on Wednesday. Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is speaking on the Union Budget in the Lok Sabha following several days of opposition protests over his earlier remarks about former Army Chief General MM Naravane’s unpublished memoir.

It is learnt that the suspension of eight Opposition MPs will remain in force. Further, the Opposition staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha over the MP suspension issue.

On Tuesday, as both Houses discussed the Budget, the Opposition MPs took the opportunity to slam the Centre over the framework of the India-United States interim trade agreement.

Further, the Opposition has submitted a no-confidence notice against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Gaurav Gogoi, Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, said the notice, signed by 118 Opposition MPs, was submitted under Article 94-C of the Constitution to the Lok Sabha Secretary-General. Notably, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) chose not to sign the notice. According to media reports, the discussion on the motion to remove the Speaker could take place on March 9.

Meanwhile, BJP women MPs wrote to Speaker Birla, urging him to take “strictest possible action” under parliamentary rules against certain Opposition MPs following disruptions in the House on February 4. Follow for Live updates.
