A familiar face in Indian cinema, the actress is known for her work in Bollywood and South Indian films.

She made her film debut in the 1997 film Himalay Putra alongside Akshaye Khanna. While the film didn’t fare well at the box office, it gave her the launching pad to kickstart her acting career in Bollywood and later find success in South Indian cinema.

She made her Telugu debut opposite Chiranjeevi in Choodalani Vundi. Eventually, she bid goodbye to showbiz and married Jab We Met actor Tarun Arora.

Curious to know who it was? The actress was none other than Anjala Zaveri. Hailing from a Gujrati NRI family, she was born in Portsmouth, England. Getting an early exposure to Bollywood sparked a deep love for Hindi films and motivated her to chase a career in the entertainment industry.

After making her Bollywood debut in Himalaya Putra, Anjala featured in multiple films, including Salman Khan and Kajol starrer Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya.

Despite working alongside prominent stars, Anjala’s Bollywood stint didn’t translate to lasting success or substantial financial gains. However, her foray into South cinema proved to be a turning point.

In the South, she went on to star in notable films like Shankar Dada M.B.B.S. and Samarasimha Reddy, earning her considerable recognition.

Anjala’s personal life saw her falling in love with actor-model Tarun Arora, known for his role as Anshuman in Jab We Met. The couple married after dating for a while and decided against having children.
