Signature campaign for establishment of government colleges in permanent buildings, in Andhra Pradesh


Several civil society groups led by Pattana Powra Samskshema Sangham, Lecturers’ Association took up agitation in Vizianagaram, asking Andhra Pradesh Government to construct or allocate permanent buildings for the Government college which is currently functioning on the premises of intermediate college.

It also insisted that establishment of both law- and B.Ed. colleges in the district as they were closed by MANSAS trust a few years ago. Pattana Powra Samskshema Sangham president Reddi Sankara Rao said Roads and Buildings Bungalow which was currently vacant can be allocated for those colleges.

Speaking to media in Vizianagaram, he said the government should shun its plan to sell the bungalow which could have sufficient space for Degree, B.Ed. and Law colleges. The Lecturers Association State vice-president Jayapal, Students Federal of India Venkatesh, CITU Secretary U.S .Ravikumar and others extended their support. They asked the government to allocate 20 acres of land near Shilparamam if it was unable to allocate R&B bungalow for those colleges.
