Slovakia’s leader rejected EU proposals to fund Ukraine’s future military needs and warned that continued financing would only prolong a war with no military solution. He argued that the EU strategy on Russia had failed, said tens of thousands were dying each month for nothing, and backed recent peace efforts including those led by Donald Trump. He also cautioned that using frozen Russian assets could undermine US plans for Ukraine’s reconstruction. While stressing Slovakia’s strong humanitarian support for Kyiv, he refused to back any move that extended the conflict.
