Seema Sajdeh, who stars in Netflix’s Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, separated from Sohail Khan in 2022. Their divorce was mentioned on the show, and she’s now dating someone new. In a recent interview with Janice Sequeira, Seema said her sons are her main focus. She talked about how she had to let go of old ways of thinking to feel at peace with the decision to end her marriage. She admitted she used to blame Sohail for everything but has since realised that divorce can sometimes be tougher on men, as women often cope better with emotional challenges.
She said, “When you’re in a marriage where you’re constantly bickering and at each other, you’re not giving your 100% to your kids also. They’re losing out. Seeing this irritable parent in the house, the atmosphere is tense, you can literally cut it with a knife because it’s so thick.”
Seema Sajdeh said that cheating doesn’t always mean the end of a relationship for her. She feels people can make mistakes and grow from them, depending on the situation. She went on to say, “I’m saying honestly, an affair is not a deal-breaker. We are human. You grow from it. And it also depends on what type of affair it was. Even if you’re thinking about someone, you’ve anyway cheated. The deal-breaker actually is to see how the two of you are going through life. Life is short, live it and be happy. Laughter is the best medicine, and the day you stop laughing together, it’s over.”
She said you should be able to like the person again and not hate them. “You should be able to reach a point where you like that person again. You shouldn’t hate that person… You tend to get so complacent in a marriage. At that time if you’d asked me, I would’ve blamed everything on him,” she said.
Seema Sajdeh and actor and filmmaker Sohail Khan got married in 1998 and were together for over two decades before separating in 2022. They have two sons together — Nirvaan and Yohan.
