Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, on Thursday, accused the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in the state of indulging in `atrocities`.  He made the accusation upon his arrival in the state`s Bhabanipur constituency to campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections. West Bengal will vote in two phases in the Assembly elections scheduled to be held on April 23 and April 29. The results will be announced on May 4. A faculty member of the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University has been suspended, with an inquiry committee formed on Tuesday to look into a “provocative” exam question set by the professor. The question had appeared in the BA (Hos) Social Work exam on Social Problems in India. (PTI) The question had been included in the first semester examination paper for the Department of Social Work, an official aware of the matter told HT. Following this, the professor responsible for the setting of the question paper was placed under suspension pending the inquiry, the official said, according to an earlier HT report. Dhaka: Bangladesh raised “historically unresolved issues” and sought a public apology from Pakistan over the 1971 atrocities as the two countries held their first foreign secretary-level talks in 15 years here on Thursday. Dhaka also asked Pakistan to pay USD 4.3 billion as its share from the combined assets at the time when East Pakistan split from Pakistan in 1971 to form an independent Bangladesh. Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan(ANI) The case was registered at the Sadashiva Nagar police station based on the directions of the 71st city civil and session court (CCH), news agency PTI quoted police as saying. The case was filed on the basis of a complaint by a man who alleged he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case and subsequently dismissed from service at the the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), where Kris Gopalakrishnan serves as a member of the Board of Trustees. The complainant, Durgappa, belongs to the tribal Bovi community. Durgappa, who was a faculty member at the Centre for Sustainable Technology at the IISc, claimed that in 2014, he was falsely implicated in the honey trap case and later dismissed from service. They broke the gates and structures of the temples. Islamic jihadists then attacked shops and homes of Hindus in Thakurgaon, Kotwali and Tiger Pass localities of Chattogram. They beat up Hindus, but policemen remained mute spectators. Later army was deployed to maintain peace.
