Suresh Nambath, Editor of The Hindu, and Navaneeth L.V., CEO of THG Publishing Private Limited, were present. The 168-page publication titled Srivilliputhur – Divine Realm of Andal, curated by Suganthy Krishnamachari, traces the religious, cultural, and historical significance of Srivilliputhur close to Madurai, known for the Andal temple and the Vatapatrasayee temple. The book also features photographs of the temples and festivals, besides illustrations by senior cartoonist Keshav depicting rituals from 8th-century poet-saint Andal’s Varanamayiram verses. Srivilliputhur is associated with Andal, who was brought up by Periyazhvar and is revered for her Thiruppavai verses. A small plane crashed near the Pacoima and Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley region on Monday afternoon. The airplane went down in the parking lot of a store, pulling down power wires, and immediately erupting into flames after the plane crash. Representational. NBC 7 Los Angeles reported that the aircraft was a 2007 Cessna 172S Skyhawk. The pilot inside the plane was rescued with injuries but spoke to first responders and is believed to be stable. The store in question belongs to O’Reilly Auto Parts on the intersection of Ralston Avenue and Van Nuys Boulevard. Updating Aadhaar biometrics is mandatory at least once for children between the ages of seven and 15, and the service is free of cost till October this year. The UIDAI said in a statement that it had “saturated more than 1,03,000 schools across India and helped millions of school students complete their mandatory biometric update (MBU) in Aadhaar at ease and comfort of their school campuses,” and that it had “rolled out the mission mode MBU drive for school children in September 2025, after a successful technological integration with the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) application.” The initiative was undertaken in partnership with State education departments and “ecosystem partners,” the UIDAI said, adding that more than 4,000 machines were used to update children’s biometrics in schools. “Keeping biometric updated …
