Out of the total 158 students who have taken admission in the 20th batch of MBA-PGPX (2025-2026) at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), 48 students (30.38 per cent) are female — highest number so far — and 110 (69.62 per cent) are males, said an official statement. According to the details shared by IIMA, the batch has an average work experience of seven years, nine months, and 36.43 per cent students possess international exposure in terms of work and studies. Most students come from a background of manufacturing and engineering (25), energy and utilities (18), consulting (14), IT products (12), retail and ecommerce (11), infrastructure and construction (9), banking, financial services and insurance (9) among others, IIMA stated in a release. Five IITs, including Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Bombay, Madras, Kharagpur, and the Indian School of Mines in Dhanbad, have featured among the top 50 institutions in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025. ISM Dhanbad, which has been given the status of an IIT, has been awarded the highest rank for an Indian institution in the table. The institute has secured rank 20 globally in Engineering (Mineral and Mining) division. This is an improvement from last year’s rank 41. IIT Delhi and Bombay, which shared the 45th rank for Engineering and Technology last year, have improved their position to bag the 26th and 28th spots, respectively. However, in the Engineering-Mineral and Mining division, IIT Bombay saw a drop in its rank to the 28th position. IIT Kharagpur has also seen a drop in its rank, securing the 45th spot. Amid a shortage of DAP fertiliser across the country, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Jamjodhpur, Hemant Khava, has demanded that DAP be made available to the farmers for the Rabi season. FT MiM Rankings 2024: The Financial Times Masters in Management (FT MiM) global rankings for 2024, released on Sunday, showcase the strong presence of Indian business schools. Three Indian institutes have made it to the top 50, with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) leading the pack at 35th place worldwide. The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A) and IIM Bangalore are close behind, ranking 39th and 41st respectively. In total, 14 Indian institutes secured spots in the 2024 list.  IIM Lucknow ranks 55th globally, followed by IIM Calcutta at 56th. XLRI – Xavier School of Management holds the 65th spot, while IIM Kozhikode is positioned at 68th.
