In Shark Tank India 4, Anupam Mittal teased Namita Thapar after she mentioned her father’s IIM Ahmedabad connection. Pitcher Prateek, an IIM alum, accepted Namita’s offer over Vineeta Singh’s.
Anupam Mittal and Namita Thapar have been a part of Shark Tank India ever since its first season.
In the recent episode of Shark Tank India 4, Anupam Mittal was seen playfully teasing Namita Thapar. It all started after a pitcher named Prateek introduced judges to his brand, Green Day, an agriculture service brand which aims to provide nutritious food to all.
During the pitch, Prateek mentioned that he completed his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. This left Vineeta Singh excited, who is also an alumna of the same institute. She asked the pitcher about his batch and was surprised to know that he was her junior. “Bohot bachhe ho aap, compared to me, main 2007 batch hu (You’re a kid compared to me, I’m from the 2007 batch),” she said.
As the pitch continued, other sharks backed out of the deal except Vineeta Singh and Namita Thapar. Vineeta offered Rs60 lakhs to pitchers for 2 per cent equity. On the other hand, Namita offered Rs 60 lakhs for 1 per cent equity and asked for 0.5 per cent royalty until the amount was recouped.
When the pitchers asked Vineeta and Namita to come together for a joint deal, the latter refused saying she wanted to go solo. At this point, the pitchers mentioned, “Vineeta, aap alumni hain, senior hain…(Vineeta, you’re an alumna and a senior…).” However, Namita quickly interrupted and said, “Mere papa bhi IIM Ahmedabad se hain (My father is also from IIM Ahmedabad).”
This left Anupam Mittal laughing out loud who then playfully teased Namita and said, “Papa ke naam pe deal bhi logii? (Will you take deals based on your father’s name too?).” Namita also laughed and responded by saying, “Main jo milega le lungi (I’ll take whatever I can).”
After discussion, the pitchers accepted Namita’s offer.
