Special Judge Ajay Gupta was hearing the agency’s plea to interrogate both the accused and allowed the plea. Seeking extension of Hawaldar’s custody, the Special Public Prosecutor V.K. Pathak submitted that she was empanelled as a physics translator by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and had allegedly, in conspiracy with other accused persons, unauthorisedly retained and distributed the NEET-UG examination paper for monetary consideration. He told the court that her custodial interrogation was necessary to identify other accused persons allegedly involved in the conspiracy and to further investigate the case. After the recent leak controversy, Union minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday said that the government is considering bringing the reforms, assurance coming days ahead of the NEET-UG re-examination. Prahlad Joshi said tech-driven exams and major reforms would be introduced by next year. The CBI has arrested Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar who runs the Renukai Chemistry Classes (RCC) in Maharashtra`s Latur city in the NEET UG paper leak case, officials said on Monday. A leaked question paper for the medical entrance exam was found on Motengaonkar` phone mobile during searches conducted by the agency on Sunday. He was arrested after that. The CBI has alleged that Motegaonkar was an active member of the organised gang involved in the leakage and circulation of the NEET UG paper, the officials said. Motegaonkar in conspiracy with other accused received the question paper and answers of NEET UG Exam, 2026 ahead of April 23, 2026 exam, they said. Shiv Sena workers staged a protest outside the Renukai Career Centre (RCC) headquarters in Maharashtra’s Latur on Monday after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the institute’s founder, reported the PTI. The accused identified as Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar was held by the CBI in connection with the alleged NEET paper leak case, the news agency reported. Supporters of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena gathered outside the coaching centre, raised slogans against Motegaonkar and threw ink on RCC signboards. Protesters accused him of damaging the future of lakhs of students by allegedly participating in the examination leak racket. Police personnel were deployed outside the building after large crowds, including students and parents, started gathering at the site from the morning.
