According to IMD’s latest bulletin, heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal and Nizamabad districts. Besides, warm night conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Nalgonda districts. Meanwhile, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are very likely at isolated places in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnoool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts. This was followed by 46.4℃ in Pinapaka (Bhadradri Kothagudem), Dharmapuri (Jagtial), Dahegaon (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad), Aloor (Nizamabad), Garidepalle (Suryapet), 46.3℃ in Enkuru (Khammam), Kannepalli (Mancherial), Anthergoan (Peddapalli), 46.2℃ Chigurumamidi (Karimnagar), 46.1℃ Seerole (Mahabubabad), Wazeed (Mulugu) and 46℃ in Nirmal Rural (Nirmal). Sirpur in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad was the hottest location in the State recording a maximum temperature of 46.5℃. This was followed by 46.4℃ in Dharmapuri (Jagtial), Gangadhara (Karimnagar), Kasipet (Mancherial), Yergatla (Nizamabad), Kamanpur (Peddapalli), Konaraopeta (Rajanna Sircilla), Mothey (Suryapet), 46.3℃ in Kamalapur (Hanumakonda), Mogullapally (Jayshankar Bhupalpally), Khammam (Khammam), Eturunagaram (Mulugu), Khanapur (Nirmal), 46.2℃ in Thorrur (Mahabubabad), Koheda (Siddipet) and Parvathagiri (Warangal). Chilpur in Jangaon recorded a maximum temperature of 45.8℃ and Indervelly in Adilabad recorded 45.6℃. Telangana braces for severe heatwave as IMD issues seven-day alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for the next seven days in parts of Telangana.  The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has forecast a gradual rise in the maximum temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next three days in Telangana. Some districts are likely to see maximum temperatures crossing 45 degrees Celsius between May 19 and May 24. Heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, and Rajanna Sircilla districts on May 18. The maximum temperature in these districts may cross 45 degrees Celsius. Parts of Telangana experienced heatwave conditions on Sunday, too. According to the Telangana Development Planning Society, the highest temperature of 45.7 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bheemgal mandal in Nizamabad district. Mosra mandal in the same district recorded 45.5 degrees Celsius. Heatwave conditions also prevailed in a couple of mandals of Nirmal district.
