Intense heat continued to grip several parts of Telangana on Friday (May 22, 2026) with a total of 16 districts recording maximum temperature above 46℃, according to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS).

Sirpur in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad was the hottest location in the State recording a maximum temperature of 46.5℃. This was followed by 46.4℃ in Dharmapuri (Jagtial), Gangadhara (Karimnagar), Kasipet (Mancherial), Yergatla (Nizamabad), Kamanpur (Peddapalli), Konaraopeta (Rajanna Sircilla), Mothey (Suryapet), 46.3℃ in Kamalapur (Hanumakonda), Mogullapally (Jayshankar Bhupalpally), Khammam (Khammam), Eturunagaram (Mulugu), Khanapur (Nirmal), 46.2℃ in Thorrur (Mahabubabad), Koheda (Siddipet) and Parvathagiri (Warangal). Chilpur in Jangaon recorded a maximum temperature of 45.8℃ and Indervelly in Adilabad recorded 45.6℃.
The districts which recorded temperatures below 45℃ are 44.5℃ in Nakrekal (Nalgonda), 43.9℃ in Madnur (Kamareddy), 43.3℃ in Bhongir (Yadadri Bhuvangiri), 41.7℃ in Papannapet (Medak), 40.7℃ in Asifnagar (Hyderabad), 40.5℃ in Gandipet (Rangareddy) and 40.3℃ in Alwal (Medchal Malkajgiri).
The districts which recorded temperatures below 40℃ are 39.6℃ in Ameenapur (Sangareddy), 39.3℃ in Kalwakurthy (Nagarkurnool), 39℃ in Koilkonda (Mahabubnagar), 38.6℃ in Ieeja (Jogulamba Gadwal), 38.6℃ in Madanapur (Wanaparthy), 38.1℃ in Kotepally (Vikarabad) and 37.8℃ in Kothapalle (Narayanpet).
