CISF marks milestone with its first all-women QRT commandos

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has successfully graduated its first batch of Mahila Quick Reaction Team (QRT) commandos, marking a major step towards increasing the role of women in specialised security operations. The passing out ceremony was held on July 28, 2026 at the 10th Reserve Battalion in Bengaluru, which has now been designated as the CISF’s official Mahila QRT Training Centre. According to an official statement, the women commandos underwent intensive training designed to prepare them for high-risk security situations. The course included: – Tactical operations and close-quarter battle (CQB) techniques. – Counter-terrorism drills. – Rapid response operations. – Reflex firing and advanced weapons handling. – Emergency deployment to protect critical infrastructure. The training aims to equip the commandos to respond quickly and effectively during security emergencies. The graduation ceremony was attended by Additional Director General (Airport Sector) Binita Thakur, IPS, who congratulated the trainees on successfully completing the demanding course.
