Prachi was born on 12 September 1988 in Valsad, Gujarat to Niranjan Desai and Ameeta Desai. She studied in St. Joseph Convent School, Panchgani and completed her schooling in Surat till ninth grade. Later, she completed her higher studies from Sinhagad College in Pune.

Prachi did a cameo in Kasauti Zindagi Ki and has been part of CID, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Naagin and more. She will be seen in Bihu Attack and Kosha. She was last seen in Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, wherein she played the role of Inspector Sanjana Bhatia.
