Vanvaas Trailer: Nana Patekar shines as abandoned father, joined by carefree Utkarsh Sharma as they navigate life against spiritual backdrop of Varanasi

The much-anticipated Gadar 2 fame director, Anil Sharma’s next film, Vanvaas’s trailer starring Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma, is finally out, and its emotional quotient will move you. Apart from direction, Anil has also produced and co-written the emotional story. At the same time, Nana Patekar is back on the back screen after a long hiatus, playing an abandoned father joined by Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles. The film is set in the ancient city of Varanasi.

Zee Studios recently shared the trailer on YouTube and has already appealed to audiences’ emotions. It is based on the journey of abandoned parents in the modern day, and the film explores themes like family challenges, betrayal, and hope.

In the film, Patekar plays the role of an elderly father who is abandoned by his family and is left to look after himself in a new city. As he looks for his family, he also deals with memory-related issues where he still believes that they didn’t do it purposely.

On the other hand, Utkarsh, who won the hearts of audiences in Gadar 2, is seen in a different role. He plays the role of a carefree con artist, Veeru, a local in Varanasi who comes across Nana’s character, and they go on their bitter-sweet journey.

The film’s highlight is the unique journey of the abandoned father and Veeru. From Veeru revealing bitter realities about Nana’s character to them forming a close bond and helping him return to his family, the film promises to be a wholesome emotional tale. Also, it explores the modern reality of the mistreatment of the elderly in some households as it showcases the harsh side of familial bonds.

Anil Sharma described that the film is close to his heart and is based on themes of love, sacrifice, and what it takes to be a family in a real sense. In addition, he heaped praises on the cast and their exceptional performances, highlighting the impactful extent of emotional depth portrayed by Nana Patekar.

Moreover, Nana Patekar shared his understanding of the film and said, “Vanvaas is more than just a film; it’s a journey into emotions we often suppress. It made me reflect on family, honor, and belonging.”

Zee Studios has produced Vanvaas and will hit the big screen on December 20, 2024. With the gripping tale, heartfelt performances, relatable theme, and beauty of Varanasi, the film will certainly be a great release towards the end of this year.
