He returns, for one last time. The makers of actor Vijay’s last film, before he begins his active political journey, kicked off the movie, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, with a traditional muhurat puja on Friday. The grand event also saw other cast and crew in attendance, including Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde.
Backed by KVN Productions and directed by H Vinoth, the film will go on floors on Saturday. The makers had earlier dropped the announcement poster of the movie, which billed Vijay as “the torchbearer of democracy“.
The official X handle of the production house shared pictures from the puja ceremony, with happy faces of the cast and crew as they all assembled for Vijay’s final film. The movie also stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Prakash Raj, and Mamitha Baiju.

The music for the film will be composed by the Anirudh Ravichander. The yet-untitled movie is scheduled for a pan-Indian release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi in October 2025.
