The Indiana Fever are set to take on the Chicago Sky on Sunday night as Stephanie White’s squad looks to regain its footing after suffering back-to-back defeats earlier this week.
However, Indiana will be without one of its regular starters for the matchup.
Why isn’t Aliyah Boston playing tonight?
Aliyah Boston has been ruled out because of a right lower-leg injury, with the Fever confirming her status on Sunday afternoon.
The Fever center had played 30 minutes in Indiana’s 109-102 loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday, Aug. 22. She finished that contest with 22 points, three rebounds and six assists.
The injury is not unfamiliar to Boston this season. She has already missed three games because of the same issue and was listed as questionable ahead of Saturday’s game against New York before ultimately taking the court.
Boston enjoying career-best season
Boston is putting together the best season of her career, averaging 17.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. She also agreed to a four-year, $6.3 million contract extension with Indiana in April.

Her 17.0-point average ranks third on the Fever, while she leads the team in rebounds, steals, and blocks, highlighting her impact on both ends of the floor.
Fever injury report and recent form
Damiris Dantas will also be unavailable for Indiana, with the veteran forward set to miss the rest of the season as she continues her recovery from left knee surgery.
The Fever came into Sunday’s matchup with a 24-14 record after falling to the New York Liberty on the road Saturday night.

Kelsey Mitchell paced Indiana in the defeat, finishing with 25 points and four assists, while Caitlin Clark added 21 points, four rebounds and seven assists.
Chicago, meanwhile, entered the contest at 15-22 following a home victory over the Golden State Valkyries on Friday.
