The makers of Housefull 5 faced a major problem after the film’s teaser was removed from YouTube due to a copyright claim for the song Laal Pari.

Housefull 5, the Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan-starrer comedy-entertainer, is currently generating buzz online. Recently, the makers faced a major problem after the film’s teaser was removed from YouTube due to a copyright claim for the song Laal Pari. Now, a new report suggests that the producer Sajid Nadiadwala has been forced to buy the rights to the Laal Pari song from three different music labels, costing crores of rupees.
A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “Sajid Nadiadwala first purchased rights from Dinesh Productions, then from Zee Music, and now, after receiving a copyright claim from Mofusion Music Studio, he has been forced to purchase the rights from them as well. The filmmaker has been caught off guard several times when acquiring the rights to this song. The situation arose because Yo Yo Honey Singh promised the song to various music labels without keeping anyone in the loop.”
Furthermore, the source shared that Nadiadwala, in consultation with T Series, purchased the song’s rights from Dinesh Productions for more than a crore.
“Sajid Nadiadwala, Bhushan Kumar, and Akshay Kumar loved Yo Yo Honey Singh’s work, and when Sajid realised the rights were with Dinesh Productions, he immediately purchased them for a large fee. Soon after that, on the day of the song’s release, Zee Music claimed ownership of the track composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh. While the matter did not make it into the public eye, Sajid Nadiadwala settled it behind the scenes for some money,” he added.
It was also said that Honey had previously sold the rights to this song to Zee Music and that licensing the same music to various banners was a mistake on his part. The stakeholders agreed to find a solution together. But the new copyright strike from Mofusion Music Studio shocked the producer.
The teaser has not been removed from Akshay’s Instagram handle.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film also features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sonam Bajwa, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma and others. The film is scheduled to hit the big screens on June 6.
