The Congress on Monday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, alleging that he avoided addressing several major issues that the opposition intends to raise during the session. The party describes the Prime Minister’s statement as a “usual litany of platitudes” and accused the government of sidestepping matters concerning governance, education and democracy. Reacting to the Prime Minister’s media interaction before the start of the Monsoon Session, Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh claimed that Modi failed to mention issues such as the alleged Ram temple donation embezzlement, the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, and the controversy surrounding the CBSE Class 12 board examination. According to Ramesh, these matters have generated widespread public concern and will be among the key issues the Opposition plans to raise inside Parliament.
