Hansika Motwani Moves To Bombay High Court, Takes Stand Against FIR By Sister-In-Law

Hansika and her mother moved to Bombay HC to take a stand against the FIR filed under Section 498A. Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) addresses cruelty against a married woman by her husband or his relatives, punishable with imprisonment up to three years and a fine. It aims to combat domestic violence and ensure justice for victims. Muskan has also lodged the same complaint against husband Prashant Motwani. She cited cruelty, domestic violence, causing hurt and criminal intimidation.

For those unaware, Muskan Nancy James and Hansika’s brother Prashant Motwani tied the knot in 2020. They separated in 2022 due to strained marriage.

Hansika has taken a stand for herself in the petition against the FIR. The actress reportedly noted that the FIR was filed out of malice. She had demanded a repayment of Rs 27 lakhs, which she had loaned to Muskan and Prashant for their wedding festivities. Hansika has reportedly claimed that the money wasn’t returned to her. Her petition included, “The allegations against the petitioner are baseless, motivated, and arise out of domestic disputes that have been exaggerated to bring them under the purview of criminal prosecution.”
