India set to field a revamped 16-member squad- Preview

A revamped 16-member Indian archery squad will be in action at the third stage of the 2026 Archery World Cup season in Antalya, Turkiye, from June 9 to 14.

Youngsters Kirti Sharma and T Ganesh Mani Ratnam will make their World Cup debuts in Antalya as they look to begin an important season on a high.

They will be joined by star archers Deepika Kumari, Dhiraj Bommadevara, and Jyothi Surekha Vennam, forming a good mix of youth and experience.

This World Cup stage, followed by the final leg in Madrid next month, will serve as a crucial testing ground for the squad ahead of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

Meanwhile, archers like Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das, who failed to make it to the Asian Games team, will be aiming to bag a few medals and qualify for the World Cup Final.

India has had a decent season so far, winning three medals across the first two World Cup stages, including one women’s team title each in the recurve and compound events.

Sahil Jadhav is the only Indian archer to have won an individual medal this season, claiming bronze in the men’s compound event at the Shanghai World Cup.
